About

Welcome to GroundGrabba!

Born out of desire to give an option of hammer-in stakes initially for the camping and outdoor industry, GroundGrabba has continued to evolve into earth anchors and ground anchors for wide and diverse application uses.

Yes, we still supply options for camping via our general GG Junior, GG Pro (GR13US), GroundGrabba Pro I (GR13UM) and GroundGrabba Pro II (GR13UL) ranges.

Now our range includes an increased in size range we call the GroundGrabba Commercial GR14 range. This is not to say our GR13 range cannot be used for commercial or industrial purposes because they can. Each earth ground anchor has its own characteristics and functions.

We also have a range without a hex head but in its place a thread which when driven into the ground provides a threaded stud to bolt a platform to the earth without the need of going through the need to pour concrete.

The bonus about GroundGrabba earth ground anchors is that they are built to last and reuse. the hexless threaded range although reusable, we suggest that they are for more permanent use.

GroundGrabba was first invented and established in Australia and now operate in the USA, Canada and New Zealand.

We welcome commercial, industrial, bulk and reseller inquires from around the globe.

Established by David Levine and Susan Sparkes-Young, GroundGrabba started on the East coast of Australia in local area known as Tweed Heads.
The concept of using a cordless drill to drive in a stake came to David in September 2009. The idea stayed with David until he actioned the creation process in November 2013 on returning from a large art and music event in the USA called Burning Man. The ground at Black Rock Desert Nevada was hard dry clay.
Hammering in 12 x 3ft lengths of steel rebar into the earth took five minutes each but it was the urgent need to extract them which had David urging to make what is now known as GroundGrabba because each stake took fifteen minutes of hard work in the desert sun to extract. Now, with the use of an impact wrench or cordless drill extraction can take mere seconds.

The other upside to GroundGrabba is that in vertical load testing they hold up to 7X more the equivalent sized hammer-in old fashioned stake! Better, if the wind was so powerful to try rip them out of the ground, they do not just ‘let go’ like conventional old fashioned stakes, but they haul out more slowly due to their underground flights/spirals that extend out from the shaft much like roots of an old tree.

Just some application uses that we are aware of are:

Camping, horse jumps, portable solar farms, wind generators, permanent or semipermanent fencing, tiny homes, portable homes, emergency tents and housing, marquees, festival tents, easy ups, gazebos, tents, art installations, sculptures, larger shade structures, tarpaulins, road barriers, light aircraft, tree supports, hurricane and cyclone preparation, annexes, sports goals, land moorings for boats, dog & goat tethering, mining, earthing systems testing. The list of application uses is endless.

Naturally we cannot claim to earth anchor anything and everything because clearly each GroundGrabba has it’s own range of abilities.

For example, our current largest GroundGrabba Commercial Pro II at 900mm long will not hold a cruise ship tied to it. But within the scope of its abilities you willfind a GroundGrabba that might just be a better option to what you are currently using.
